RE: Rebate
EDF are also offering free cavity wall and loft insulation to people on certain benefits. You dont need to be a customer of EDF to qualify.
RE: Rebate
Most energy companies give free insulation if you meet the criteria. Call your supplier they will tell you. WARM HOME DISCOUNT you have to be on any form of pension credit or if you are on income support or job seekers or employment support allowance AND you have a child under 5 living with you or disabled child under 18 that you get a premium for or a disability premium or severe disability premium for yourself. DLA doesn't qulaify. It doesn't matter who you pay your electricity bills to you call them and they will tell you if you meet the governments criteria. Time is running out as the payments have started and end in March. This has to be applied for annually. I work for an energy company so hope this helps xxx
RE: Rebate
Be careful....DLA is not a qualifying benefit, however the rest of what has been told it correct to a certain degree. The pension side to it comes with certain criteria's also and you have to be on the guaranteed pension side of this to qualify. The DWP should be notifying your energy supplier if you are entitled to this and it is being applied to bills now up to the end of March.
Someone mentioned loft insulation....at moment, NPOWER are offering loft insulation at £1 roll.....dont think there are any qualifying criteria's that need to be met and you do not have to be on supply with them. Think that again, this is government initiative and funding.
RE: Rebate
I did say dla DOESN't count! If anyone is unsure if they will qualify ring your electricity supplier and they will confirm for you. And when you ring them ask if you are on the cheapest tariff and if there is any other way they can save you money!
RE: Rebate
Thanks for letting us all know, well appreciated. I have just applied so fingers crossed.
I went on 'Warm Home Discount EDF' and DLA is an acceptable benefit.
RE: Rebate
