Housebound Roomies
I would just like to say that I,luckily have no disabilities, but there are numerous players on here that are housebound and have found a bit of freedom by playing bingo online to make friends etc. Some of them have severe arthritis and find it hard to type to talk to other roomies and some people might look on this as being ignorant if they dont say thankyou after having a win or replying to a welcome when they come into a room. There is a very dear friend of mine with such a disability that plays in the snug and her wonderful husband sits beside her the whole time she is playing to type her greetings, well wishes, and thank you's. It has recently been made known(by herself) to Admin that this happens as she did'nt want to be classed as a cheat, yet the Admin team have told her that she cannot have assistance in this way. This is her lifeline and I'm sure there are numerous others similar to her that have been given a new lease of life due to Woohoo so please Admin would you reconsider your decision? and let her talk to us all with the help of her husband
RE: Housebound Roomies
surely there needs to be exceptions made....come on admin....have a heart!

RE: Housebound Roomies
Hi all,
This has recently been brought to my attention, I do understand how frustrating this may be, however if players are allowed to have others use their accounts to type/buy tickets, it is against the Terms and Conditions and opens the floodgates for all players to do this.
A line has to be drawn somewhere, which is why we state that accounts must only be used by the account holder. Obviously proving who is typing, without the person stating they are someone other than the account holder, would be very difficult, however if players are caught breaking any of the Terms and Conditions, action has to be taken, to ensure fairness to all players.
Previously players have had their chat facilities removed due to sharing accounts, or typing for other people, so we have to stick by the rule of no sharing accounts in any way.
I'm sorry that this isn't better news, however we can't be in a situation where players do share accounts, for no other reason than jumping on the band wagon, because an exception has been made to other players.
We want to ensure there is fairness where possible, so will state that if another person types on your account, and is caught, you do run the risk of action being taken.
Hope this helps.

RE: Housebound Roomies
Hi to all who read this I am making no apologies from the start. I have read through woohoos terms and conditions and quite frankly find no provision for inclusion, is it not about time these were looked at as this could be seen as discrimination for all people with disabilities. Does it not pay to be honest these days this member has been given a lifeline on here maybe her hubby is doing her typing but its her words, and he is not using her account he is using his fingers.
I have also looked at the DDA and if you look at QUOTE
"4.7 (pg39) From 1st October 1999 a service provider has to take reasonable steps to change a practise which makes it unreasonably difficult for disabled people to make use of its services"
The code of practise which specifically mentions websites, can be downloaded from the equality and human rights commission website.
Cmon woohoo management look at your codes of practise you are excluding unfairly in my opinion people who would otherwise be invisable if they cant chat to the friends they make on here .
RE: Housebound Roomies
Thanks for the information, however if you take a look at the Terms and Conditions for Woohoo Bingo, under Section 2, it states the following: (I have pasted the relevant points)
2. Restrictions On Use
2.1.1 YOU MUST NOT REGISTER OR SEEK TO REGISTER WITH WOOHOOBINGO.COM OR PLAY ANY OF THE GAMES ON THIS WEBSITE ("THE GAMES") IF ANY OF THE FOLLOWING APPLY:
2.1.5 YOU ARE NOT ACTING AS PRINCIPAL AND ARE ACTING ON BEHALF OF SOMEONE ELSE;
By using another players account, whether by typing or buying tickets, accounts are being used on behalf of another player.
As I stated previously, it would be very difficult to prove who is typing, but if it was proved, action would have to be taken, to ensure fairness to other players who may have had account restrictions placed for previously sharing accounts.
I understand that this must be frustrating, however we are not discriminating against anyone, we are providing a chat facility, alongside bingo games, not the other way around.

RE: Housebound Roomies
best for ppl not to be honest and just get on with it
RE: Housebound Roomies
I understand lines have 2 be drawn but she loves chatting in snug to all her friends as she is housebound. Surely exceptions can b.e made
RE: Housebound Roomies
If exceptions are made for a few players to be able to in theory break the Terms and Conditions for Woohoo Bingo, we are opening the floodgates to allow all players to do this.
